“Declare His glory among the nations,
His marvelous works among all the peoples!”
(Ps 96:3 ESV)
Dear Christian Friends,
Christians might be tempted to think that “evangelism” and “mission” are concepts invented in New Testament times. After all, you hear Jesus say, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19) and “You will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8) and “This gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matt. 24:14)
But here we have a psalm written 1000 years before Jesus came to win our salvation. It seems that from the beginning, there has been a desire by God and His people to invite others to believe in Him who has given such great and loving promises.
And so, today, I urge you to be inviting young families with children to enrol in our Vacation Bible School. August 18 will be here before you know it and we want to be ready to tell these children all about Jesus. Pray about it! Act on it! Be a courier of the greatest news the world has ever seen! “Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous works among all the peoples!”
Coming Up this Sunday at Prince of Peace…

News Now…
June 9 – Summer Service Time Change Takes Effect! Our summer worship service time will be 10:00 a.m. beginning Sunday, June 10 and concluding Labour Day weekend. Tell everyone! Make a reminder for yourself.
It’s Our Annual Church Picnic! Our Church Picnic is Sunday at Lowville Park (on Guelph Line, 6 miles north of Hwy #5). We’ll provide the hot dogs and drinks, you can bring a salad or dessert (and lawn chairs). There will be activities for all! This year we have Picnic Area #1, which is closest to Guelph Line (next to the Old School House).
Senior’s Lunch: Whether you attend the church picnic or not, here’s another chance to get together. On Monday, June 10, let’s gather for a potluck lunch at noon with games following. Simply bring something to eat and something to play.
Opportunity to help: A single mom with three teenage girls is getting re-established in an apartment and could use some assistance. Specifically, some food for the cupboard and clothing for the girls (sizes small and medium) would be most helpful. Contact the PoP office if you have something.

Anglicans and Lutherans release joint affirmation on marriage: In May, representatives of the Anglican Church in North America, Lutheran Church–Canada, The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, and the North American Lutheran Church held a summit on biblical marriage and sexuality. Participants have now released a joint “Affirmation of Marriage” approved by the heads of all four church bodies. Click Here.
President Robert Bugbee preached at CLTS’ Call Service, and the video of that sermon is now. Click Here.
For Our University Students: It’s that time of year again. If you have any members/children who are in grade 12 or on their victory lap, their decision about their post-secondary education must be made within the next couple of weeks, if it is not already. Please email campusministry@lcceast.ca with their name, email address, and the school they will be attending and we will send them an email inviting them to a nearby LCC church and let it’s pastor know that they will be in the area and their contact email as well. DPS Fund Appeal
Jenn Shack is now here helping the people and pastor of Prince of Peace congregation to serve children and young families as our Director of Parish Services. But we only budgeted enough to pay her up to August. Wouldn’t it be great to keep her service with us going into the fall season, particularly as Sunday School and other activities kick off.
Would you consider and pray about donating a week of her employment? It only costs $230/week. You could make it an offering to the Lord in recognition of a special day or in memory of someone.
Help us fund Jenn Shack as our part-time Director of Parish Services! Simply enter “DPS” on the line of your offering envelope in addition to your regular offering.
How can Jenn be of benefit* to our congregation in her role as Director of Parish Services?:
- Serve as resource person for families who want to share the faith at home
- Serve as resource and support person for volunteer staff ministering to children, youth, and young adults
- Assist putting the “polish” on programs and bring in creative, new ideas
- Assist with intentional planning for integration of children and youth into the regular life of the congregation through education and fellowship programs
- Bring a wealth of experiences and new ideas into our congregational life
- Assist our Pastor in the educational programs of the church
* The maximum benefit of DPS ministry is seen over a long period of time. Short-term benefits can be realized, too, but more time equals more benefit for the congregation.
