Vacancy Pastor, Rev. Robert Krestick, will continue to lead each Sunday in Bible Study and Worship. Pastor Jim Schnarr will help with teaching confirmation and visiting shut-ins. We appreciate and thank him for offering to help us out during our vacancy. If you should have any Pastoral needs during our vacancy, please talk to one of our Elders. They will address your concerns to the appropriate Pastor.
Call Meeting: On Tuesday, October 23rd, the voting members of Prince of Peace voted to extend a Call to Pastor Andre Schroth who is currently serving the congregation of First St. Paul’s in Wellesley, Ontario, near Kitchener. As we patiently await Pastor Schroth’s decision, please keep him and the members of First St. Paul’s in your prayers.
Fall Cleanup: Our annual outdoor fall cleanup will be Saturday, November 24 at 9:00 am. Bring rakes, gloves, pruning shears, bags, a smile and willingness to exercise the body and the mind. Coffee will be on!
We are collecting for Food4Kids who provide healthy food for kids aged 4-14 years with limited or no access to food each week. We are collecting both perishable and non-perishable items (perishable items can be left in the downstairs fridge). Most needed items are: individual packets of oatmeal, apple sauce, fruit cups, raisins, cheese and cracker packs, cookies as well as cans of soup, baked beans, chili, stew, Tuna and Salmon, pasta, fresh fruit and vegetables.
Ladies Guild Christmas Bazaar: We have started collecting for the Christmas Bazaar being held December 1. Any new or gently used items are welcome. Books for children and children’s toys are especially needed. They can be left by the cupboard area in the basement. Bake sale items will be welcomed closer to the day.
Christmas Poinsettias – The youth will be taking orders for Poinsettias, Christmas arrangements and wreaths to raise money to send them all to the NYG in Langley BC in July 2019. Cash or cheques will be accepted (cheques to be made payable to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church)
Collecting Stamps: Christmas is when we receive many Christmas Cards, so please save the stamps and put them in the stamp box located above the coat rack. The stamps generate money that provides Bibles to be distributed by the Canadian Bible Society. But do save the stamps year round as it doesn’t cost us anything, while making a difference in people’s lives.
PoP Address Book – If you have changed your address/contact information during 2018 and have not as yet advised the office, Please let Linda in the office know. She would like to issue an updated book at the end of November. Send an email to office@poplc.ca with your new information.
PLEASE KEEP THESE PEOPLE IN YOUR PRAYERS THIS WEEK
