Vacancy Pastor, Rev. Robert Krestick, continues to lead us each Sunday in Bible Study and Worship. For the next three weeks, while Pastor Krestick is on his mission trip to Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Pastor James Schnarr will be leading the Sunday Services and Bible Class as well as teaching confirmation and visiting shut-ins. We appreciate and thank them for offering to help us out during this vacancy. If you should have any Pastoral needs during our vacancy, please call any of our Elders. They will address your concerns to the appropriate Pastor.
Men’s Street Ministry meets face-to-face with the homeless and less fortunate in downtown Hamilton, distributing soup, sandwiches, snacks, beverages and clothing to those in need, and showing God’s love to those they meet along the way. They need donations of Clothing: hoodies, coats, sweatpants, socks, underwear, belts, running shoes, boots, and rain gear. Bedding: sleeping bags, blankets. A box will be in the coat room for your kind donations. Backpacks are urgently needed at this time.
Ladies Breakfast Bible Study meets the 2nd Saturday of each month. Our next Bible Study is January 12 at 9:00 am and we will be choosing our Secret Prayer Pals for 2019. Come and join us.
Men’s Bible Study Breakfast –An invitation is extended from Pilgrim Lutheran Church (1054 Upper Sherman Ave, Hamilton) to their Men’s Bible Study Breakfast at 8:00 am on Saturday January 12.
YOUTH NIGHT. The youth of Trinity, Fisherville and Prince of Peace, Burlington are invited to Pilgrim for a games night January 18, 2019 from 7-9pm. Bring the board games your families have or the ones you got for Christmas. We’d like anyone who continues to be interested in attending the National Lutheran Youth Gathering to attend because you will meet others who are going. Anyone who would just like to be with other young people are certainly welcome to come out for a fun evening. This is an event for both Confirmation and high school age youth. Parents, please encourage your children to attend. “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12)
Consider this ALLI for the New Year. Most often we make New Year’s resolutions that favour self-improvement. We resolve to exercise more, eat less, quit a bad habit. Here’s a new take on those New Year’s resolutions. Instead of promising to change something, let’s resolve to reflect on the person God has made us. Let’s resolve to take a moment each day to recognize a talent, a gift, an opportunity, a relationship, that has blessed our day. God’s blessings make us who we are. Starting January 1, resolve to notice one blessing each day and thank God for that blessing.
PLEASE KEEP IN YOUR PRAYERS those under doctors’ care, those recovering from surgery, those suffering dementia, and those who are in mourning.
