Vacancy Pastor Rev. Robert Krestick, continues to lead us each Sunday in Bible Study and Worship Service. Rev. James Schnarr teaches confirmation and visits our shut-ins. We appreciate and thank them for offering to help us out during this vacancy. If you should have any Pastoral needs during our vacancy, please contact one of our Elders. They will address your needs and concerns to the appropriate Pastor.
Pastor Call Notes On Sunday may 26, the Voter’s Assembly unanimously elected Reverend Timothy Barone as our called Pastor. Pastor Barone is currently serving the congregation at Calvary Lutheran Church in Thunder Bay, Ontario as the Senior Pastor. Please keep Pastor Barone and the members of Calvary in your prayers as he considers this call to Prince of Peace.
Team Zion: Pastor Krestick has requested that we share the work in Costa Rica/Nicaragua that Team Zion does and can be found on youtube. Go to https://youtu.be/XnHl1sCBKPU. Team Zion is continually in need of financial support. You can do so by placing your donation in an envelope marked Team Zion. Make sure your name is on the envelope. Cheques can be made out to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. All donations are eligible to be added to your tax charitable receipts.
Confirmation Service Two young people will declare their faith in public before the congregation during the service on June 9. Please pray that they will continue in their faith throughout their lives.
Busy Bees are looking for round neck T-shirts (men’s or women’s, long or short sleeves) to be made into boys’ shorts, and men’s dress shirts (long or short sleeves) to be made into hospital gowns, and also hand towels. Donations can be left in the basket in the coatroom.
Food4Kids: Fact: 10% of school-aged children in Halton live at or below the poverty level and come to school hungry. The smallest kind, loving gesture can have a lasting impact on a child. We are collecting for Food4Kids who provide healthy food for children with limited or no access to food each weekend. We are collecting both perishable and non-perishable items such as individual packets of oatmeal, apple sauce, fruit cups, soup, baked beans, cans of chili and stew, cans of tuna and salmon, raisins, pasta, cheese and cracker packs, cookies, fresh fruit and vegetables. Perishable items can be left in the downstairs fridge. God bless and a big heartfelt thank you for all your donations and your love expressed to those in need.
Hamilton Men’s Ministry The ministry is looking for mayonnaise and salmon to prepare sandwiches for needy persons in Hamilton. If you can help with the ingredients please leave them in the box in the coatroom.
CLTS Golf Tournament – Once again this year, PoP will be represented by a foursome of exceptionally fine golfers who will try their very best to bring home a prize. We won’t tell anyone that all participants get a prize. Please pray for good weather and safe travel.
In your prayers, please remember those in mourning, those being treated for cancer, those under doctor’s care, and all of our elderly and shut-in friends and family as they contend with the challenges of poor health.
