Sunday (October 6th) at Prince of Peace
9:00 am – Sunday School and Bible Study
10:30 am – Holy Communion Divine Worship Service with Rev. Robert Krestick, emeritus
A Thought & A Prayer: Jesus compares the Father’s love for His little ones to that of a shepherd who left his 99 sheep to search for the one who went astray. Do we show similar concern when fellow Christians stray from faith in Christ? May we never despise one of the little ones for whom Christ died. God did everything He could to seek and to save the lost. He spared not His only Son but gave Him up for us all.
We pray – Give me a heart, O Father, that cares about each of Your little ones. Amen

We appreciate and thank them for offering to help us out during this vacancy. If you should have any Pastoral needs during our vacancy, please talk to one of our Elders. They will address your needs and concerns to the appropriate Pastor.

Pastor Hoeffs is currently serving the congregation of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Please pray for Pastor Hoeffs and the members of Lutheran Church of the Redeemer as he contemplates this call to Prince of Peace. May the good Lord be with them at this time.

Life Chain: Life Chains are being organized in many cities/towns across Canada by cooperation of prolife organizations like Right to Life Chapters, Lutherans for Life-Canada, and Campaign Life Coalition. Life Chain is an easy way to get involved in pro-life activism. Your local Life Chain organizer will provide you with a non-graphic Life Chain sign to hold, and you may pray silently for an end to abortion and for those affected by it. In our local area a life chain will be set up on October 6 from 2:30pm to 3:30pm at the corner of Maple Ave. and Fairview Street Burlington. (same as last year) For a list of all locations, visit https://www.campaignlifecoalition.com/life-chain. We have a number of members from our congregation who will be taking part in the October 6th Life Chain.
Thanksgiving: It has been a wonderful tradition at Prince of Peace to decorate our chancel/altar for the worship service with God’s good gifts. Once again we are asking that if you would like to donate items for our Thanksgiving worship display, please bring them to the church by Saturday October 12.
Team Zion Team Zion is continually in need of financial support. The members of the team pay their own expenses, and we understand that Pastor Schnarr and his wife will be joining Team Zion on the next trip. You can support this mission effort by making a donation to Team Zion. Make sure your name is on the envelope. Cheques can be made out to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. All donations are eligible and will be added to your tax charitable receipts.
Men’s Street Ministry meets face-to-face with the homeless and less fortunate in downtown Hamilton. They currently have an urgent need for canned Tuna, canned vegetables, tomato sauce, chicken broth and beef broth. Donations can be left in the coatroom.
