Online Only Worship
A reminder: Due to the current public health response and the corresponding tightening of government restrictions, Prince of Peace has returned to an ONLINE ONLY worship format. We long for and look forward to the day that we, along with psalmist can say, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord!’” Until then, stay tuned for more details.

The Response to our Call
Prince of Peace has received official notification that our call for a candidate has been answered. At the CLTS Call Service on Saturday, May 29th, our Vicar, David Zakel was placed in his first call to Holy Ministry here at POP. Our period of vacancy is almost at an end! Praise the Lord! We look forward to the Ordination and Installation of our soon-to-be-Pastor.
Ordination and Installation Update
The committee to plan soon-to-be-Pastor Zakel’s Ordination and Installation has been formed and detailed planning has begun. Planned Date: Sunday, July 4 at 4PM.
Since its beginnings over 14 months ago, the pandemic and related restrictions have been the source of a lot of uncertainty. We can’t look more than a few days in the future and know what we can and cannot do. There were some surprises in the draft reopening plan released several days ago. One of those surprises is that in all stages of reopening starting with stage 1 religious services are PERMITTED UNLIMITED OUTDOOR CAPACITY as long as proper distancing is maintained. By comparison, indoor religious services are expected to remain limited to 10 around this date.
After weighing all of the alternatives, your leadership, clergy and the planning committee agree that our goal will be an outdoor service on July 4 so that everyone may attend in person if they desire.
Specific details are in flux, however it is clear that this will require more financial support than what is available in our 2021 budget. There will be requirements for rental equipment, COVID safety measures etc… which go beyond the outdoor services we have had in the past. This need is estimated to be in the thousands.
CALL FOR PLEDGES:
If you would like to pledge your financial support for this very special outdoor service, please contact the church office at office@poplc.ca or 905-332-7671. Please provide your name, contact info (email and phone#) and the amount that you pledge. Your generous commitments to donate will drive decisions made during planning. Time is of the essence.
WE ASK ONLY FOR PLEDGES – donations are not required at this time.

For those suffering with anxiety, depression, and those who are unemployed or underemployed. Those coping with the chances and changes of life, as well as our Vicar-elect David Zakel, our Vacancy Pastor Robert Krestick, and Rev. James Schnarr. Supporting My Home Congregation in Difficult TimesThe expenses of the church continue through this pandemic. The support of congregation members is necessary. There are three ways to make financial contributions to Prince of Peace at this time: 1. LCC Web site 2. Monthly EFT 3. Personal Cheque Heavenly Father, You have richly blessed us through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Accept our offerings and use them to Your glory. Amen. |
