“But I trust in you, O LORD;
I say, ‘You are my God.’
My times are in your hand.”
(Psalm 31:14-15 ESV)
Dear Christian Friends,
Ponder the verse above as we enter a new year. It is the Year of our Lord 2014.
Ancient Job confessed, “The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.” (Job 1:21 ESV) We do not yet know what the Lord will send our way – what we might receive, what might be taken away. Some things will be considered blessings, some will be counted as trials.
God help us to receive it all with faith in His goodness. Especially, may the Spirit of God use every circumstance to solidify our confidence in Jesus our Redeemer.
Receive the year rejoicing in the One who said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” (Revelation 21:5 ESV) This He has done through the forgiveness of sins which He accomplished on a cruel cross and from an astounding empty tomb.
“But I trust in you, O LORD; I say, ‘You are my God.’ My times are in your hand.”
A blessed new year to us all!

New Year’s Day Resolutions abound with thoughts of better physical fitness and quitting bad habits. How is your spiritual fitness? How about adopting a holy habit? – daily Bible reading! Back in September of 2012 many members of Prince of Peace enlisted in and began a 2-year journey through the Bible. Currently we are reading the book of Amos (see schedule for the week below). In 2014 we will reach and complete reading the New Testament. If you are not yet in, it would be a great time for you to join the Bible reading effort. Ask the Lord to motivate you to read His Word this year. Just follow the readings. We have in the office copies of the Today’s Light Bible which divides the readings into days accompanied by devotional explanations to the readings.
