Vacancy Pastor, Rev. Robert Krestick, continues to lead each Sunday in Bible Study and Worship. Pastor Jim Schnarr will help with teaching confirmation and visiting shut-ins. We appreciate and thank him for offering to help us out during this vacancy. If you should have any Pastoral needs during our vacancy, please call one of our Elders. They will address your concerns to the appropriate Pastor.
Collecting Stamps: Christmas is when we receive many Christmas Cards, so please save the stamps and put them in the stamp box located above the coat rack. The stamps generate money that provides Bibles to be distributed by the Canadian Bible Society. But do save the stamps year round as it doesn’t cost us anything, while making a difference in people’s lives
We are collecting for Food4Kids who provide healthy food for kids aged 4-14 years with limited or no access to food each week. We are collecting both perishable and non-perishable items (perishable items can be left in the downstairs fridge). Most needed items are: individual packets of oatmeal, apple sauce, fruit cups, raisins, cheese and cracker packs, cookies as well as cans of soup, baked beans, chili, stew, Tuna and Salmon, pasta, fresh fruit and vegetables.
Advent Lessons and Carols: The seminary community warmly invites you to a service of Advent Lessons and Carols – a service of Word, music, prayer, and praise – on Sunday December 9 at 4.00pm. The service culminates with the announcement of the Christmas Gospel, by which the students anticipate Christmas just before leaving for the holidays. Concordia Lutheran Seminary, 470 Glenridge Ave, St.Catharines.
Daily Devotions for Advent: In “The King is Coming”, explore God’s marvelous work through the lives of those who were on the scene at the time of the Savior’s birth. Sharing Advent devotions can be a way to reach out to family and friends who do not know the Savior or celebrate Christmas. Copies available in the narthex, or go online at www.adventdevotions.net.
NOTE: On Thursday December 6th, access via the rear door to the church will not be available due to concrete re-construction to level the walking area.
MEN’S STREET MINISTRY meets face-to-face with the homeless and less fortunate in downtown Hamilton. Roger Boyd and his team of volunteers distribute soup, sandwiches, snacks, beverages and used clothing to those in need on the streets of Hamilton. The mission is to provide food and clothing and show God’s love to those we meet along the way. The ministry is supported by generous donations of food and clothing, mostly Facebook followers who see what is being done and is given directly to those who need it most.
They need your help and here is how you can support the project!
Clothing donations: At this time they primarily provide clothing to men and this includes: Hoodies, coats (appropriate to the season), sweatpants, socks, underwear, belts, running shoes, boots, backpacks and rain gear. Bedding: Sleeping bags, blankets. A box will be in the coat room for your kind donations. So as we start trying on our winter clothes and find the washer shrunk them please bring them in to donate .
PLEASE KEEP IN YOUR PRAYERS THIS WEEK those recovering from surgery and others dealing with health challenges.
