“When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, ‘Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.’ And they went with haste.”
(Luke 2:15,16 ESV)
Dear Friends,
Christmas greetings!
Be like the first Christmas shepherds! Hurry up, gather your family and friends, and get to Prince of Peace for one of the Christmas Eve services or the Christmas Day service.
The shepherds heard the good news of Jesus’ birth from angels that appeared to them. The shepherds’ response was not to consult their calendars and see if they could fit in an unscheduled trip to Bethlehem. They said, “Let us go!” “And they went with haste.”
Well, I’m no angel. But I am a messenger of the Lord just the same. And the news is just as good as it was then.
So come, check it out! Rejoice and sing. And then, again, do as the shepherds did …
“And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, as it had been told them.”
Merry Christmas!
