“But now the righteousness of God has been manifested—the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all who believe. For there is no distinction: for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.”
(Romans 3:21-24 ESV)
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus!
Soon it will be here! – the 500th anniversary of Luther’s posting of his 95 Theses on October 31, 2017. That date in 1517 marked the beginning of the Lutheran Reformation.
To focus on this important anniversary here at Prince of Peace, we will be using the five Sundays of October to examine the five “solas” that epitomize the teachings that were clarified during the Reformation:
- “Sola Scriptura” – By SCRIPTURE Alone
- “Soli Deo Gloria” – To God alone be the GLORY
- “Sola Christus” – Through CHRIST Alone
- “Sola Fide” – Through FAITH Alone
- “Sola Gratia” – By GRACE Alone
You have seen in my emails references to the online radio programme, Issues, Etc. I like their slogan which summarizes why we will be walking through the five “solas” – “Know what you believe and why you believe it.” Indeed!
Through it all we proudly boast that our focus here at Prince of Peace is, as the large sign says on the front of our church building, “It’s still all about Jesus” – for you and for me.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.

Baptismal Banner Project: It has been a loving task for many years to provide each child that is baptized at Prince of Peace with a memorial banner that not only marks the date of the occasion, but also reminds child and family alike of God’s grace and love. It takes 4 to 5 people working together to assemble each of our Baptism Banners. At this time we are in need of those who have a talent for sewing and embroidery. If you could possibly help with this task, please let us know.
