“Seek the LORD while he may be found;
call upon him while he is near;
let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
(Isaiah 55:6-7 ESV)
Dear Friends,
Greetings in Jesus’ name.
These Sundays we are taking a closer look at “Noah – The Man, The Ark, The Flood” in the Adult Bible Class (see the notice below). I think about how things are today. People are not worried about God, they are worried about money, the environment, and their relationships. And yet, that is all people were doing during the decades Noah and his family constructed the ark. The last moment to care about God was that instant when they realized the earth was flooding over and they had no place to go.
I thought of that very reality when I read the first verse printed above. We should all “seek the Lord while He may be found.” The words imply there will come a time when, like in Noah’s generation, it will be too late to “seek the Lord.” The situation is the same today. There will come a day of Judgment when Jesus returns, history as we know it will come to an end, and people of every generation will be judged.
And it’s not some vague evaluation about whether someone says, “Well, I believe in God.” Specifically, what does one believe about God. Again Isaiah tells us, “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
Specifically, I am talking about the pardon won for us by God’s own Son, Jesus. Can you appreciate how amazing this grace and favour of God is to us? If you can begin to appreciate it, you will also pray and speak like it is a lifesaver for those around you too. That is why the Bible and your pastor bug you about caring about the unbelieving people around you.

Ladies Bible Study Breakfast meets for the first time this fall on Saturday, September 20, at 9:00am. If you have ever attended you know what a blessing it is. If not, why not give it a try this fall. Regulars are encouraged to bring a friend.
The Bible’s account of Noah, the ark, and the flood is legendary: A man in his 500s with no power tools and only ancient technology builds a huge ocean-going ship able to hold two of every land animal. The flood covers the entire planet, topping the highest mountain by 20 feet, yet somehow this extra water all disappears.
To many people the Bible’s account of Noah’s flood sounds over the top – almost mythical. But the Men’s Network wants to know if it is plausible. In this study we go to the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky, to interview scientists and theologians who discuss the Bible’s account of Noah, the ark, and the flood. We also search for evidence of the Biblical deluge in the records of ancient civilizations, on the earth’s surface, and in the fossil record.
In the Sunday Adult Bible Class we will feature this video entitled, “Noah – The Man, The Ark, The Flood” and also ponder, “What might Noah’s flood mean to me?” Come and see! Sunday at 9:15 in the church basement. Coffee will be on!
Featured in the movie is Ken Ham. Here is a sample of his perspective. Click here.
