“Then (the Lord) said to me, ‘Prophesy over these bones, and say to them,
O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones:
Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live.’”
(Ezekiel 37:4-5 ESV)
Dear Christian Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus!
The prophet Ezekiel had a very enlightened vision from the Lord. He was led into a valley full of human bones and was asked by the Lord if these bones could come to life again. After the prophet considered this idea impossible, the Spirit of God brought those bones back together. Sinews and flesh formed. Finally the Lord commanded the breath of life to come into these bodies. A very interesting vision indeed!
But here is the application. We are spiritually dead to God because of sin (see Ephesians 2:1-3). When the Spirit of God applies the Word of God to us, we come to life. Together we form a great army of living, believing people. Alive in Christ, we love and serve God and one another.
This Sunday is the Day of Pentecost celebrating God’s sending forth of His Spirit. Come and ponder the Holy Spirit which is our heavenly counsellor and comforter.
Christ is risen! He is risen indeed! Alleluia!

This final Adult Bible Class of the season will be Sunday, May 27th at 9:00am in the church basement. Coffee will be served. This will be a good session for every voter who will be involved in the calling of a new pastor.

Choose life! We live in a time when everything in Canada seems turned upside down. We have abortion on demand for just about any reason, and euthanasia – euphemistically called medical assistance in dying – for terminal illness, however defined. People participating in these actions seem proud of what they do to Canada’s most vulnerable. As Lutherans, and hopefully for all Christians, abortion on one end of life and physician assisted suicide on the other are abhorrent. The Bible, as our grounding in faith, along with the Small Catechism can help … READ MORE…
Humboldt – still strong: When tragedy affects a small community, everyone feels it. The highway crash on April 6 that killed 16 people and injured 13 others aboard a bus carrying the Humboldt Broncos junior hockey team is proof. Of course, Humboldt, Saskatchewan is officially a city, but it’s a small city. News reports from Humboldt in the weeks since the tragedy show it’s the kind of place where it’s impossible to walk down a supermarket aisle without meeting a friend, neighbour, or relative. And indeed, that’s true of the churches of … READ MORE…
