“You have led in your steadfast love the people whom you have redeemed;
you have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.”
(Exodus 15:13 ESV
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus!
One of the more glorious things about being a Christian and reading God’s Word is the way that verses pop up at just the right time by the working of God’s Spirit. Such is the verse quoted above.
When a Christian dies, we rejoice in the victory of Christ. And that’s what this Holy Week is all about – The Passion and Victory of Jesus Christ our Saviour. Jesus Christ is God’s Son who came into the world to become the perfect sacrifice for sin – our sin. He suffered in our stead to take away our sins and the sin of the whole world.
Then, on Easter morn, His ultimate victory was displayed by way of an empty tomb. Jesus had risen from the dead. Death was not able to subdue Him.
By faith, His victory becomes our victory. By faith, we are “the people whom (He has) redeemed.”
Now, when death comes knocking on our door, it has to submit to the victory of the risen Lord. And we pray, along with the exuberant Moses, “You have guided them by your strength to your holy abode.”
“The last enemy to be destroyed is death.” (1 Corinthians 15:26)
Rest in peace, all you faithfully departed. “Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!”
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all!
