“Many are the sorrows of the wicked,
but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.”
(Psalm 32:10 ESV)
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus!
Do you really believe the verse above? If true, as I do believe, this verse means that we who trust the Lord are blessed to have God’s steadfast love. But it also means that those who lack faith are in an awful state. Some of you have described to me some of the tragic situations people of the world find themselves in. Some of you have expressed to me when you personally go through something difficult, “Boy, I don’t know what I’d do if I didn’t have faith!” – and by that you mean faith in God and in His Son Jesus.
It makes me think of a Gospel hymn sung by Steve Green, “People Need the Lord.”
Everyday they pass me by,
I can see it in their eyes.
Empty people filled with care,
Headed who knows where?
On they go through private pain,
Living fear to fear.
Laughter hides their silent cries,
Only Jesus hears.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize, people need the Lord?
We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right.
What could be too great a cost
For sharing Life with one who’s lost?
Through His love our hearts can feel
All the grief they bear.
They must hear the Words of Life
Only we can share.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize that we must give our lives,
For people need the Lord.
