“Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
(Words of Jesus from Matthew 6:33-34 ESV)
Dear Christian Friends,
Lenten greetings!
I would like to trust God more than I do. The Lord commands it. Luther’s Catechism says, “We should fear, love and trust in God above all things.” My life would be better if I did it. But faith can rise and wane. Unfortunately, it is not something I can conjure whenever I need it. Thanks be to God that He gives it! “Seek and you shall find,” Jesus says. The Holy Spirit brings the Scriptures to life in hearts in the form of new faith. So, we come to the Lord’s service where He works on us and in us. We read God’s Word which is powerful to work faith in us. Let us trust God more – Let’s ask God’s Spirit to give us confidence in Jesus’ name to trust Him more! “Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.”
The Lord be with you!
Coming Up at Prince of Peace …

The Lenten season at Prince of Peace …
Come to church! – With God, there’s always something going on – around you and in you!
“Sounds of the Passion”: Because the suffering and death of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, occurred in real time and history, we can better grasp the events and their meaning by considering how people experienced it using their five senses. This Lenten season we are pondering the sounds of the passion. Let us draw near and listen! – Wednesdays at 7:00pm here at Prince of Peace.
“Behold the Lamb!” As far as we know, Jesus never got down on His hands and knees and went around making a “Baa Baa” sound. And yet when Jesus comes to the Jordan River, John the Baptist says, “Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” During the Sundays of Lent, we are exploring Old Testament texts that reference a lamb. Together let’s “Behold the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.”

Dear friends throughout Lutheran Church-Canada,
You may remember that the Commission on Constitutional Matters and Structure (CCMS) set this coming Monday, February 29, as the deadline for people to complete online surveys on our church’s structure … or to have postmarked paper copies they are sending to our office.
Because we will need to wait a week to allow Canada Post to get the paper copies in to us, the CCMS has authorized online survey participants to have until Monday, March 7 to complete their returns. We are eager to hear from as many of our church members across the country as possible.
So, the deadlines are: February 29 postmarks (for those sending a paper copy to our office) … March 7 online surveys.
