On Tuesday, March 17th, Premier Doug Ford announced a state of emergency for the Province of Ontario. This announcement includes the banning of public meetings with attendance of over 50 individuals. Since the average attendance at Prince of Peace on Sundays exceeds this number, we have no choice but to suspend worship services on Sunday. Effective immediately, worship services at Prince of Peace will be suspended until further notice. At the time of writing the church office has staff coverage 9am-noon Monday through Friday. If this situation changes and the office closes, phone messages will be checked regularly.
Verse of the Week “I sought the LORD, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.” Psalm 34:4, 17
Heavenly Father by whose grace and goodness we move and have our being, hold us safe through the current pandemic crisis amid uncertainties of life. We don’t know what lies ahead but of this we are certain, Your love always shines in our hearts. Amen
When
in the hour of deepest need
We know not where to look
for aid;
When days and nights of
anxious thought
No help or counsel yet
have brought,
Then is our comfort this alone
That we may meet before
Your throne;
To You, O faithful God, we
cry
For rescue in our misery.

When you go to www.lhm.org you will find many different Christian resources to feed your desire to bring life in Christ closer to you. There you will find devotions, sermons and Bible Studies for individual Christian growth. Take advantage of these resources while we do not have the ability to worship together at this time.
Prince of Peace Update: Amid this current crisis which is affecting the lives of everyone, your church council continues to monitor and provide resources that help our Christian members and friends maintain a relationship with Jesus. The council will continue to meet weekly via Zoom media conferencing. Some of the programs discussed during this week’s meeting were:
Pastor Krestick will continue to provide a weekly sermon to be available on Sunday mornings. This sermon will be available on YouTube. Access to details will follow later.
Pastor Schnarr will provide weekly confirmation instruction to our two confirmand students. The first such class via video conferencing was successfully completed this week.
Bible class on Sunday mornings will be continued. Last week over 20 persons shared time together. Please plan to join us at 9am:

Hymnals available for loan: Our Lutheran Service Book has wonderful devotions thatcan be used by families and/or individuals during the day as we sit at home during this pandemic. You can call the office at 905-332-7671 from 9am – Noon, and the Service Book will be made available to you on loan.
Youth Involvement: Discussion as to how we can involve the youth to gather together via technology. Perhaps this could be a circuit project with the Circuit Pastor’s involvement.
Financial Issues: Since we do not have the benefit of Sunday offerings, discussion evolved around the ways in which we can continue to receive offerings from congregational members in order to meet ongoing obligations such as maintenance, heating, hydro and salaries.
Help is Available: If anyone needs rides, shopping, appointments, etc you can contact the office. Please be advised that all precautions will be taken.
Divine Call Information On Sunday January 26, 2020, PoP voters elected to call a graduating Candidate from one of the Lutheran Seminaries. The process is in the hands of LCC leaders who decide where candidates receive their first call. We will have to be patient since it will be late May when the Candidates are assigned. Please pray for all of the Candidates as well as our church leaders. If you have questions concerning this process please talk to one of the elders or Pastor Krestick.
A BIG thank you to all who donated
groceries to our St. Catharine’s seminary. A delivery was made to the seminary
that included over 12 bags of food. Although the seminary is closed to
in-person lectures, the building and its library resources remain open for students
to use. Thank you for extending God’s love for our students in this way.
To God be the Glory
In your prayers, please remember all those in mourning, being treated for cancer, recovering from injury and under doctors care, as well as our elderly and shut-in friends
