Your 2016 Offering Envelopes are now available in the lobby. If you would prefer to make your regular offering to the church by Electronic Fund Transfer directly from your bank account, there are forms in the lobby for you to fill in and return to our Financial Secretary.
Please consider a year-end offering here in December. It will assist in making up our $20,000 shortfall in budgeted expenses.
We give Thee but Thine own, Whate’er the gift may be; All that we have is Thine alone, A trust, O Lord, from Thee.
Sunday Bible study and the Youth Bible Study are both on a 2- week break for the Christmas holiday. Sunday School will resume January 10. How about a godly New Year’s resolution to get yourself and your family into God’s Word via Sunday School/Bible Study in 2016?

An opportunity for your support: A message from the Social Ministry Committee of the East District’s Department for Outreach… For most kids in Canada, going to school is part of growing up. But in Jordan, education is not so routine for Syrian refugee families. The Jordanian government has generously welcomed refugee students into its schools, but the wear-and-tear of having so many more children shows in the upkeep of the buildings. Students can’t study and learn as effectively if they’re fighting the facilities. You can help improve the learning conditions for refugees attending Jordan schools. A gift to Canadian Lutheran World Relief will help with a “school makeover” that will fix things like windows, plumbing, and electrical circuits. CLWR and our partners in Jordan are counting on Canadians to help do something about it. Help support a makeover of these schools—and the Canadian government will match your gift! Donations to support Syrian refugees will be matched up to December 31. For online donations, please go to: http://www.givingschoolday.ca/. You may also watch a short video about this project at: www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzJ8BxTaepQ&feature=youtu.be.
Creation Ministries International will visit Pilgrim Lutheran Church on February 2, 2016 at 7pm. The public school system, including grade school, high school, college and university, undermine the Christian teaching. This is your opportunity as parents and grandparents to be better equipped so you can intelligently reinforce biblical teaching with your children and grandchildren, and even strengthen your own faith. Calvin Smith is the speaker. His topic “GENESIS: THE MISSING PIECE OF THE PUZZLE.” Materials on many relevant and related topics will be available for sale afterwards. Put the date on your calendar right now so that you don’t miss this event.
In your prayers, please remember:
- Those recovering from surgery
- Those under doctors care
- Several of our members suffering colds and flu
- The plight of refugees from various parts of the world
- The lonely in our country during the Christmas holiday season
The Lord be with you.
Yours in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Kevin Walrath
