“Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith—to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.”
(Romans 16:25–27 ESV)
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the name of Jesus!
This Sunday still will be Advent in the morning (the 4th Sunday in Advent) where we will hear St. Paul conclude his letter to the Romans mentioning “the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed.”
Paul is talking about the wonder of the Incarnation – the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ in the flesh. It is the marvel and joy of the Christmas message. What existed to our minds only as a promise – a word spoken of a future hope, comes to us in the Person of God’s Son in our human flesh for all to see, hear, and touch.
With Christmas, “the mystery” of God’s unfathomable good will toward us is “disclosed.” It happened in real history back then – and we hear about its having happened from the Bible now! The Word is out. It’s no longer hidden. God has given full disclosure.
Though “disclosed” in general, still there are so many in the dark about Jesus, the Saviour, born for them too. Won’t you invite someone who really needs to hear some good news to church with you this Christmas holiday?
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
Please join us as we celebrate Christ’s birth! …

In your prayers, please remember:
- To pray for the faithful preaching of the Good News of God’s sending His Son into our world to be our Saviour
- To pray for those who travel, those who are ill or caring for ailing loved ones, those who struggle with mental illness, those who mourn, those who are unemployed – people who need our prayers at all times, but especially during the holiday season which they find difficult
The Lord be with you.
Yours in Christ Jesus,
Pastor Kevin Walrath
