Vacancy Pastor Rev. Robert Krestick, continues to lead us each Sunday in Bible Study and Worship Service. Rev. James Schnarr IS visiting shut-ins and teaching the Confirmation Class. We appreciate and thank them for offering to help us out during this vacancy. If you should have any Pastoral needs during our vacancy, please contact one of our Elders. They will address your needs and concerns to the appropriate Pastor.
Divine Call Information – The next call meeting has been scheduled for Sunday, September 22nd, following the service. Regional Pastor Rev. Marvin Bublitz will be in attendance to provide the message to us that Sunday as well as leading the voting discussion and voting process.
Choir Practice: will be every Wednesday from 6:45pm – 8pm. If anyone who would like to join the choir, please let us know. As always, new voices are always welcome! You do not need to be proficient in reading music. Just a love to sing.
Harvest Day will be held at the Concordia Lutheran Seminary, St. Catharines on Saturday, October 19. We are collecting food donations for the students and would ask that you place all donations in the red bin located at the top of the stairs at the back entrance to the church. Please note that we only have 4 weeks to collect donations as the Harvest Day date is early this year. Thank you for your generous support of the seminary students and may God continue to bless our Prince of Peace family. Also, if anyone is interested in attending the Harvest Day event please let us know. Registration is required.
Team Zion Team Zion is continually in need of financial support. You can support this mission effort by making a donation to Team Zion. Make sure your name is on the envelope. Cheques can be made out to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. All donations are eligible and will be added to your charitable tax receipts.
Spaghetti Dinner Extraordinaire – Redeemer Lutheran (78 John St. W., Waterloo) will host a Spaghetti Dinner Extraordinaire on Sat. October 5 in support of the Zion Mission Team, with members from across Canada, who will be going to Nicaragua in January. All proceeds will be used to finance VBS supplies, building materials for a parsonage in Leon, and food hampers. There will be two sittings: 4:30 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets are $20 each or $50 for families of 3 or more. The spaghetti dinner includes Caesar salad, buns, pie, coffee and juice, and door prizes. You can choose a tomato meat sauce or creamy white sauce. Food4Kids is thrilled to be chosen as the local charity for the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie campaign this year! From September 16 – 22 the full $1 from each cookie sold will be donated to Food4Kids Halton. Buy 10 cookies and you will feed a child for a weekend! Help us spread the word by purchasing cookies for your office, starting a ‘pay-it-forward’ chain with friends or telling everyone you know to go and buy some cookies!
Men’s Street Ministry needs volunteers to help the less fortunate on the street. They currently need help serving soup, snacks, sandwiches and clothing on Mondays, Wednesdays, Friday nights and Saturday mornings. They also need sandwich makers for Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. If interested please contact menstreetministry@gmail.com
